Part 1: How Widespread Is Hybrid Office Working and How Has

One of the legacies of the pandemic and lockdowns has been a big increase in hybrid office working, with people spending part of the week in the office and part working remotely, usually at home. On a positive note, the change has improved people's work-life balance by saving time and money commuting and giving them more time for other activities during the working week. On the downside, it has hit the revenues of city centre businesses and public transport services, and it has undermined the value of offices and loans secured against them.

If you could live anywhere and still work productively, have the career you desire, and feel a valued member of an organization, where would you choose? This was one of the questions the pandemic raised in the minds of many workers. Could the umbilical cord tethering us to a commutable distance from our workplace be cut?
