Investment into the Cambridge cluster triples from previous 12 months

At the end 2021, demand for office & lab space in Cambridge stood at its highest level since 2014. With the only space in the market under offer, global life science giants, start-ups and grow-on businesses will be competing for the limited new space in the pipeline.

While the life science sector occupies over half of the city’s office and lab floorspace, it is just one part of the Cambridge story. Office take up in 2021 was ahead of the five year average, counter to caution across much of the UK office market. The expansion of the tech sector, with increasing collaboration with life science companies, is driving demand.

Understandably, the Cambridge market remains highly sought by investors, with a number of large deals completing in 2021 H2.
