Three months is a long time in politics, and the housing market. While economic uncertainty loomed prior to the summer of political turmoil, events compounded the challenging backdrop.

The November 3rd base rate rise was expected, and the bond markets have steadied. Nonetheless, the average two year fixed-rate 75% LTV mortgage is at its highest rate since 2008, currently hovering around 6% up from 3.6% in August.

Nationally, this backdrop has added to the demand for rented homes
as potential homebuyers place purchase plans on hold.
