Bidwells has been named Highly Commended in the Excellence in Habitat Restoration category at the prestigious Property Week ESG EDGE awards.

This recognition highlights the firm's innovative scheme at Lower Valley Farm in South Cambridgeshire, which has created a 170-acre habitat bank to provide a solution for developments with off-site Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements.

The pioneering project, developed as BNG legislation was still evolving, has already allocated over 65 biodiversity units to support local developments. By creating habitat in an ecologically strategic location and considering the whole ecosystem, the scheme maximises environmental outcomes. Early benefits are already apparent, with sightings of protected species like short-eared owls, corn buntings, and skylarks utilising the restored habitats.

The Property Week ESG EDGE awards celebrate excellence in sustainable real estate, recognising the companies, projects and individuals driving positive change across the industry.
