This recognition underscores Bidwells' innovative approach to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship.
The Excellence in Habitat Restoration award celebrates initiatives that actively restore and protect natural habitats and wildlife, promoting biodiversity. Bidwells' nomination stems from their work with Cambridgeshire County Council to develop a pioneering habitat bank at Lower Valley Farm in South Cambridgeshire.
The Lower Valley Farm scheme was a landmark project, taking BNG delivery to a new level by providing a whole ecosystem approach to habitat enhancement and offering a robust solution for developments with off-site BNG requirements. This initiative showcases Bidwells' industry leadership in addressing the evolving environmental challenges within the property sector.
Drawing on decades of experience in land management and environmental consultancy, Bidwells continues to pioneer mechanisms to establish and effectively implement environmental initiatives that benefit both developers and the environment. The firm's Natural Capital team combines in-depth knowledge of legislation with practical expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Lisa Bulmer, Associate at Bidwells, “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this award, our team enjoyed working on this pioneering scheme with the Council and are already seeing the benefits of the habitats created here.”
The winners of the Property Week ESG EDGE Awards will be announced on 12 November at the Hilton, Bankside, London.
