For the 9th year in a row, Bidwells’ Planning team has been shortlisted in the prestigious RTPI awards celebrating some of the region’s most impressive projects.

The RTPI East of England Awards for Planning Excellence give recognition to planners and teams who have delivered inspiring work over the past year across the Eastern region of England.

Bidwells have had three projects shortlisted under the Best Project category.

  • 1000 Discovery Drive, Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
  • Emmanuel College South Court Redevelopment and Refurbishment
  • One Cambridge Square, Cambridge North

1000 Discovery Drive is the first speculative commercial laboratory building to be delivered within the Cambridge Biomedical Campus Phase 2 expansion. Sitting within a curated landscape setting, the building provides state-of-the-art, flexible floorspace alongside a high-quality amenity offer.

One Cambridge Square sits opposite the Cambridge North railway station and represents a unique opportunity for businesses to secure best-in-class, energy-efficient offices, joining the renowned northern cluster of office and science parks which are home to many dynamic fast-growing firms, as well as the world’s best known business names, including landmark tenant, Samsung.

Navigating complex planning and heritage constraints, the South Court development at Emmanuel College provides exemplary spaces for students to learn, work, and socialise. It combines new buildings and adapted existing facilities to support both the College and its students.

Guy Kaddish, Partner and Head of Cambridge Planning, said:

“The three schemes nominated reflect the quality of schemes being delivered across Cambridge. From University College’s through the Grade A office space and thriving Research and Development hubs – these projects add to Cambridge and the space for people to learn, work and socialise.
We are incredibly honoured and proud to have three of our projects shortlisted for this prestigious award. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and hard work of our entire team. Each project represents our commitment to planning excellence.”

The East of England Region celebration event will be hosted at Cripps Court in Cambridge on Thursday 20 June.
