Erin Porter

Erin has a keen interest in urban and environmental geographies.

Working with multiple higher education institutions, including the University of Southampton, Cranfield University and the University of Oxford, Erin has secured permission for estate projects across a range of scales.

She has also been closely involved in delivering ongoing strategic and practical advice for significant projects and making representations on behalf of clients, gaining knowledge of estate rationalisation and the development of planning arguments.

Erin enjoys communicating planning matters to clients and the public and has successfully authored a range of materials for public consultation events.

I’m currently in the second year of the RTPI Degree Apprenticeship programme, studying an MSc in Spatial Planning one day a week at University College London (UCL). On the other four days, I work in the Bidwells London Planning Team. Now over a year into the Master’s, I’ve taken some time to reflect on this (relatively new) route to becoming a Chartered Planner and I hope that by sharing my experiences so far, I can advocate for the Degree Apprenticeship as a great basis for a career in planning!
