Sophie Tofts

From being taken to many National Trust estates at an early age, Sophie’s love of history and historic buildings has never waned. She went on to study an undergraduate degree in History and a Masters in Building Surveying, where her love of conservation and preservation was really born.

From complete refurbishments and restorations to public engagement and getting locals to buy into a dramatic building change, Sophie has a wide range of experience across heritage and conversation.

Sophie’s background has enabled her to gain a strong understanding of historic building materials and techniques, which she analyses and interprets at the outset of each project to ensure any proposed works are sympathetic to the historic building fabric.

Where some may shy away from complex projects, Sophie thrives in this environment – she loves ‘taking something messy and bringing it all together’. It is clear Sophie has found her calling in life.

What makes Sophie really tick is seeing things she has been involved in function and thrive. She is driven by protecting buildings and creating a lasting legacy that can be enjoyed for generations to come.
